DANCEWEAR POLICY

Proper dance attire is required for all classes. Dress codes have been enforced to build discipline and respect for the art form of dance. Dress code requirements also help to reveal how well the dancers are implementing the technical aspects of dance style being taught, especially ballet. Body alignment, stretched feet, and extended knees cannot be seen when they are draped in baggy attire such as sweat pants, etc. Provocative clothing is not acceptable at any time at the studio.

Dancewear: Proper dancewear consists of leotard (your color of choice) and tights for all ages during ballet, jazz, tap, and Pointe classes. Tank tops, t-shirts, ½ tops, and pants are not permitted . Tightly fitted shorts, such as SOFFE’s, are allowed over the leotard and tights. Short ballet skirts are allowed as well. Hip-hop classes do have exceptions. Capri pants and tank tops are allowed for hip/hop classes only.

Dance Shoes : Proper dance shoes are required for all classes. Required dance shoes differ according to age and class level. All dancers are required to purchase shoes from “R in E”. Hip/Hop classes do require a specific style of tennis shoes; please check with your teacher for more specifics.

Dance Accessories : Dance bags are required to carry belongings to and from class. Hair should be tightly secured in a ponytail or bun. Jewelry is not allowed to be worn during dance class.

If you have any questions regarding these policies, please let us know.

CELL PHONES

Dancers are not allowed to bring cell phones in the dance rooms. If phones must be stored in dance bags, they must be turned off during class. Students are at the studio for a short time each week of which instructors and students take this time very seriously. Ringing cell phones are distractions during class. Please be respectful by adhering to this policy.
